At this time, our focus is on creating a welcoming community in GBU Pisa and exploring relevant topics for students. The main activity was the apologetics event, ‘Is believing in God for idiots?’ (6 November), at which we had the privilege of hosting Dr Samuel, a scientist from the University of Pisa. His teaching touched on high-impact topics such as cosmology, human rights, and ecology, enabling deep and honest discussion, as evidenced by the atmosphere that evening. Meanwhile, Bible studies on Ephesians strengthened the group’s identity. Finally, an informal pub evening was organised at Orzo Bruno on 10 November to help newcomers integrate. This follow-up activity aimed to foster relationships and encourage community life.

Praise
  • We praise God for His faithfulness, which transforms anxiety into tangible opportunities.
  • We are grateful for the Apologetics evening and the profound discussion on faith and science, as well as the wisdom the speaker was given.
  • We thank Him for the new students who experienced a familiar and welcoming atmosphere.
  • We thank God for speaking to us through the Bible studies on Ephesians. We praise God that we can live out our faith practically, not just through study, but by creating simple, genuine opportunities to come together, as we did at the meeting on 10 November.
Prayer
  • At GBU Pisa, we would like prayer that each one of us could comprehend and fully live out our identity in Christ. Pray that we can walk in the good works that God has prepared for us every day.
  • Pray that the new students will integrate and feel part of this family. We ask for perseverance and unity as a group.
  • Finally, please pray for all the students at the University of Pisa who do not yet know Christ. Pray that God will open our eyes to the good works He has prepared to reach them and open their eyes to the Gospel.

At GBU Siena this year, we weren’t sure what to do about the students, since some of those who were coming to the group had either graduated or started work. Also, as this was my final year at university, we weren’t sure how we would manage to continue. By God’s grace, four new people have joined us, one of whom is a believer and another is very interested in finding out who God is.

Praise
  • Thank the Lord for the new people and for sustaining us so far, enabling us to achieve what we planned for this semester.
Prayer
  • Please pray for the new people, that the Lord would open up their hearts and that they’d keep wanting to find out more of who He is and what He did for them.
  • Pray for us too (coordinator and staff), that the Lord would give us wisdom in running the group, especially as we’re approaching the end of the academic year.
