Praise
  • The first part of the year really was very encouraging! We’ve seen Christian group members grow and we’ve been able to directly present the Gospel to various friends of ours, both through events and the Bible studies.
  • We thank God for the new room we’ll be able to use in this second semester and for how He guided our choices as a result of it.
Prayer
  • TMD, “The Mark Drama”: God willing, GBU Florence will also carry out this wonderful project at the beginning of May!! We’re super enthusiatic and we’re asking for prayer that the event will go well, both for the actors and our friends who are coming to see the play!!
  • We’re asking for prayer that each of our small initiatives will bear fruit to God’s glory!
  • For the two girls who coordinate the group in Florence, and that God would give other people in the group the desire to serve Him as coordinators, knowing He’ll provide for our every need.

Praise
  • We thank God that we’ve been recognised as an association in the Polytechnic and this allows us to have an institutional email address, therefore we can send emails to all the students in the Polytechnic, inviting them to our events. This made two of the last events highly successful: the open mic and a seminar on pornography, both of which drew around 40 non-believing students.
  • Praise God that this month a student made the decision to follow Christ!
  • That new group members were enthusiastic and got involved.
Prayer
  • On 12 April we’re holding a conference on self-worth.
  • For our coordinators, in particular that they’d manage to organise their time well and make their commitments with both the university and the GBU fit together.
  • That those interested in the faith could deepen their study of the Word, and that we students would help them in that process.

Thanks to God, we’ve started up the Bible studies from the book of Acts again in the various groups, and we’re organising various outreach events for the month of April.
We’ll be talking about a very delicate subject, even among Christians themselves, namely, the truthfulness of creation.

Prayer
  • To involve new students through presenting the GBU to local churches. In particular, a greater number of students are needed in the area of engineering in order to continue the various activities.
  • For the following upcoming outreach events (availablity of rooms, for students to be there and for preparing the debate)

Our semester began in January with a series of dinners and discussions where we compared Jesus’ message to the truths that various fields of our culture offer. We continued with these evenings up until the weekend of 1-4 March, which we spent in Marradi with the Florence and Pisa GBU groups for the Winter Camp.

Praise
  • We thank the Lord for the new students who are attending the group.
  • The opportunity to spend this weekend talking about Jesus with our friends from Florence and Pisa. He is better than any high priest and the only way for us to have access to God.
Prayer
  • Let’s pray that new students come to our meetings
  • For the two evenings of events we’ll be holding in April and May.

Praise
  • We thank God for the fact that even though we had problems finding a permanent place to hold our meetings, thanks to the effort put in by some students, the group has continued to be up and running.
  • We thank God that some girls in the group keep sharing good ideas on how to improve meetings and group activities.
  • We thank God that we’ll be doing The Mark Drama on 11 and 12 April in Palermo!
Prayer
  • That lots of students will come to see TMD, become interested in the Gospel and decide to know more about it.
  • That God will bless the series of meetings we do after TMD.
  • That the group will be more and more united and that other students full of passion for the Gospel would join.

There are currently three weekly Bible studies in Rome, one at the Sapienza University, another at Tor Vergata, and a third and final study is taking place every Wednesday for all students in Rome. Students come to this evening study from private universities too and some come from Roma Tre, as they don’t currently have a permanent group in the faculty. This year there have also been a lot of Erasmus students arriving who have decided to join in the GBU Rome activities.
We’re asking for prayer for outreach events we’ve planned for April and May, and for the University of Roma Tre which doesn’t currently have a Bible study group.
