Praise
  • GBU Trieste has started meeting again on a weekly basis this year.
  • We’d like to thank God for allowing us to have a lecture theatre to meet in, keeping in the warm and sheltered from the Bora wind.
  • We’d also like to thank Him that the Welcome Day has been a vehicle for allowing us to talk to lots of university students and bringing some people to the Bible studies.
Prayer
  • We’d like to ask for prayer for two students we’ve been having very interesting dialogue with, who have been asking very deep, genuine questions about faith and Jesus. Pray that God would really touch their hearts and that they’d recognise the miracle  of what Christ did for us.
  • As the group coordinators have to leave us soon, we’re also asking that God will put the desire in the hearts of the believers in the group to carry on this work and give them wisdom, so that new students would be able to get to know Christ and the hope there is in Him.
  • Finally, we’d like to pray that God will use us to spread the Gospel, keeping us humble and creating opportunities for dialogue with the University students.

Praise

Among the praise points, we’d like to thank God for being able to renew our membership as University Association this year too, allowing us to have a warm venue to meet inside the University and giving us access to University funding for organising conferences or seminars. We’d also like to praise God for allowing us and each group member to form new student friendships and contacts who can then come along to meetings.

Prayer

One of our prayer requests is asking for prayer for the conference we’re holding on 14 December, that it will be an effective time giving out flyers and that those God wants to bring along will choose to come to GBU meetings. Pray also for the posters we’re about to put up for the presentation of the GBU as a University Association on 15 November, that God would use these to make the GBU known and new students would be led to come to meetings and be saved by His grace. Finally, we’d like to ask God for wisdom for us, the team coordinators, that He’d lead us both in managing the group and in decisions needing to be made by the end of this year over requesting funding for next year’s conferences.

We are Chiara and Gabriel, the coordinators of GBU Trieste.
To date, God has worked wonderfully in this town. After years of inertia, we’re starting our GBU activities up again in our University from zero with a group of around 15 believers. As the group began, many of the members thanked God for this, because they really felt the need to. We’ve already managed to hold 2
meetings, and we’re thanking God for how He is taking control of each thing.

We’d also like to ask for this fervour not to disipate and that we’d be more and more united among ourselves, such that the love among us is part of our witness in the University environment.

We’d also like pray that the Lord would open doors for the non-believer students and that they too would be involved in our meetings and be saved if this is in God’s plans.

Some while back we sent off all the documentation for the application for GBU Trieste to become a University Association, and God allowed this to happen, for this we’d like to thank Him. Shortly, the documents will also come out for requesting a set room in the University where we can meet. We really hope that these requests would also be followed through.

We thank you dearly for all the work you’re doing and thank you for helping us complete our mission.
